7:00pm [7:30pm] Honeymoon Suite
Description:
Johnnie Dee formed the first incarnation of Honeymoon Suite in Toronto in 1981 with a few lineup changes. In 1982, Johnnie met up with Derry Grehan and re-formed Honeymoon Suite adding Ray Coburn on keys and Dave Betts on drums. In 1983 they decided to enter the Homegrown Contest put on yearly by Toronto's Q107-FM radio station and their single "New Girl Now" won the contest. The band was immediately signed to a major label record deal with Warner Music Canada. Throughout 1983 and 1984 Honeymoon Suite toured Canada and the US, consistently headlining club gigs and opening for such acts as Billy Idol, April Wine, The Kinks, and Bryan Adams. Over the years, the band has continued to release successful albums that produced hit singles such as “New Girl Now”, “Burning in Love”, “Wave Babies”, “Stay in the Light”, “Feel it Again” and “What Does It Take”. Don’t miss this incredible homecoming of Honeymoon Suite in Niagara Falls!

[8:00pm] Fred Eaglesmith
Description:
The Fred Eaglesmith Traveling Steam Show will be performing live on February 2. He is a Canadian alternative country singer-songwriter. Many of his songs are about failing farms and small businesses. Down-and-out characters dealing with loss of love or livelihood, and quirky rural folk also populate his songs. His songwriting uses many of the techniques of short-story writing, including unreliable narrators, surprise endings, and plot twists. In 2010 he appeared on David Letterman. Tickets will be available soon at www.fredeaglesmith.com or at The Sanctuary.
